"You're So Judge-mental"

The Star Chef Challenge, photo Bob Elam
Well, yes I am!  Sometimes I'm judgey and sometimes I'm just mental--
Sans-black robe but in black nonetheless, I was asked to judge a salmon cook-off between Chef James Laird of Restaurant Serenade (Chatham) and Chef Kate Orlando, from Dartcor office commisaries.
It was a good natured competition--to raise money and awareness for the Community FoodBank of NJ-- and the chefs traded quips and lent each other utensils (awwww).
It was Chef Kate's Salmon & Goat Cheese “Truffles” on Fried Green Tomatoes with Corn Relish versus Chef James' Poached Salmon on top of a Tomato Salad with Watermelon and Basil.
You can read Ellen Oxlid's coverage of the event on Patch and get the recipes here.

NEWSFLASH:
I've been asked to be a judge at the second annual Fashion Fight For A Cure,   rockin' runway show put on by the talented staff of DEPASQUALE, The Spa,  in an effort to benefit Cancer Care at Saint Clare’s Hospital. I hope you'll join me! Sunday October 2,  2 PM, the Hanover Marriott
