What Does New York Taste Like?

It tastes good...really good and not just in Manhattan.
At the James Beard Townhouse, chefs from all over the state gathered to present their creative cuisine and paired their dishes exclusively with New York state wines.
Chef Gregg Lauletta of Prime, the gorgeous waterfront restaurant that sits on Huntington Harbor just off the Long Island Sound,  got the reception started with silky Foie Gras topped with Long Island Duck Prosciutto and Shallot Confit and poured a Bedell Cellars 2006 Musee.
Lauletta's next course was Pan Seared Diver Sea Scallops with dandelion greens, bacon, dumplings and vintage port reduction. So succulent, so delicious! The dish was accompanied by another Bedell Cellars wine, the 2007 Taste White, an aromatic, citrusy blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Gew├╝rztraminer.

The meal was finished with a scrumptious Lemon Curd Mousse Napoleon with carmelized rhubarb and rhubarb syrup created by Chef Deb Whiting from Red Newt Cellars Winery and Bistro
in the Finger Lakes region near Watkins Glen.
