My Mother, Melasma, and Me

Okay, so every time my mother sees me she says, "you should really do something about those brown spots on your cheek."
It's very annoying. Especially because she's right.
So I went to see Dr. Chasin at Reflections Center for Skin and Body (Livingston location pictured above.)

He told me my spots were something called melasma and it's her fault I have it.
Well, he didn't exactly say it was her fault-- melasma, can be hereditary but it can also be hormone induced and aggravated by sun exposure. And then he told me he could help me,
he waved a magic wand and said, "spots begone."
Okay, he didn't say that, and the wand wasn't magic, it was a laser. But it did work!
The Reflections Centers (in Bridgewater and Livingston) offer comprehensive cosmetic services including laser hair removal, Botox Cosmetic and Restylane, Juvederm and other dermal filler injections, as well as laser treatments for wrinkles, sun spots, acne, acne scars, rosacea, tattoo removal, skin tightening, plastic surgery and mesotherapy.

You are fortunate that it worked so well. Some people have melasma that is just so stubborn that nothing will help.
