Thyme for a Change

Why are we still drinking cosmos? Because even if they're boring at least they're usually good-- and every other flavored martini is sickeningly sweet. Thyme for a change! Get herbaceous! The Amalfi Cocktail, created by Ektoras Binikos, the head mixologist at Aureole, is a winner. This guy knows how to shake it for the movers and shakers! And puh-lease don't forget to chill the glass!

1-1/2 oz citrus vodka
1/2 oz Limoncé Limoncello
1/2 oz fresh lime juice
2 sprigs lemon thyme or regular thyme
Splash of Yuzu juice*

Put vodka, Limoncé, fresh lime juice and the leaves from one sprig of thyme into a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously. Strain and pour into chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a sprig of thyme.

*Okay I know, not a staple item, but easily available at gourmet markets and it is optional. If you use it, just put in the shaker with the other ingredients. And if you just can't be bothered, sidle up to the bar at Aureole and let the master mix it for you! Cheers!
